The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave drum is made of high quality stainless steel .
It has a central bass note in the center plus eight other notes around it.
These eight notes are made up of two reeds each which emit the tone in two octaves .
This creates a wonderful , meditative sound similar to the tone of a handpan . At the bottom of the drum you will find the hole, which can be closed with a silicone plug to make the sound even more compact.
There are also three silicone feet at the bottom to prevent the drum from slipping. You can play the Octave Steel Tongue Drum with sticks or fingers. Just place it on a flat surface or on your lap to start playing.
The drum includes two wooden mallets with rubber heads and a nice carrying bag with zipper and handle.
